It was an offensive fireworks display Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

In their final game before the All-Star Break, the Los Angeles Clippers posted their second highest point total of the season in a 134-107 win over the Phoenix Suns. Lou Williams and Danilo Gallinari were the team’s driving force — Williams posted 30 points and 10 assists on 75 percent shooting while Gallinari went for 20 points, six rebounds and two blocks — while five different Clippers scored in double figures.

On a night where the Suns put up almost no defensive resistance, the Clippers had a multitude of contributors. Montrezl Harrell, as per usual, stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, four rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block. Ivica Zubac went for 16 points and seven rebounds. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Landry Shamet combined for 20 points and seven assists as well. Sindarius Thornwell was the only Clipper to not register a field goal.

On the other side of the ball, Patrick Beverley put on a defensive clinic. Beverley posted three steals and a block as he locked up Suns’ star Devin Booker to the tune of 10 points on 2-10 shooting. The defense, as a whole, was relentless from start to finish as they flew around the court. The Clippers forced 16 turnovers, blocked nine shots and held Phoenix to just eight of 30 from three.

After a 45 point outing in Minnesota, Williams continued his hot streak with an 11 point first quarter as the Clippers took a double-digit lead early on. The Suns cut that down to single-digits after a 10-0 run midway through the second, but the Clippers responded with a 10-0 run of their own before they pushed the lead to 16 by the end of the first half.

It didn’t get better from there.

Danilo Gallinari led the way with nine points on three shots while Williams added another six points of his own in the third quarter. The Clippers’ lead ballooned to 31 at one point before Head Coach Doc Rivers felt it necessary to clear the bench for mop-up duty in the fourth.

Now, with a week off for the All-Star Break, Los Angeles will have time to sit back and further acclimate (or re-acclimate in some cases) other pieces of the roster. Shamet — who received his first start with Los Angeles against Phoenix — and Zubac should benefit with more time around Rivers and the rest of the Clippers roster. Meanwhile, Wilson Chandler is expected to return from a quad strain that had sidelined him prior to his arrival in Los Angeles and Luc Mbah a Moute should return from a knee injury that has kept him out since mid-October. With Tobias Harris gone to Philadelphia, the Clippers may not be as talented as they once were, but, soon enough, they will be as deep as ever.

And that depth may prove vital to the Clippers postseason hopes.

With the win, the Clippers moved back into the eighth spot in the Western Conference, a game separating themselves from the Sacramento Kings and three from the Los Angeles Lakers. With just 23 games left on the season and those teams looming, this win could prove a vital one for Los Angeles. If they can keep the momentum rolling through the break, they could provide themselves a nice bit of cushion as the race for a spot in the Western Conference playoff picture goes down to the wire.
