Atlanta Hawks Player Grades as of All-Star Break
The All-Star break is over and the “new-look” Atlanta Hawks are ready to return to the floor. With just 24 games left on the schedule, All-Star weekend lands about three-quarters of the way through the year and sets up as a great moment to do some housekeeping. As we have done two previous times, we are going to go through the roster and using The Bball Index’s Player Grades shed some light on just how well or poorly the players on this team have performed up to date. Take a look below at how the Hawks are playing and compare that to what the grades have said about them previously.
With the season nearing its end, these grades are very important for the Hawks young core. The three rookies, Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, and Omari Spellman have at least 500-plus minutes of NBA action under their belts and so these most recent grades are a better representation of how well they’ve played as rookies and highlight where there’s still work to be done.
After missing games on-and-off throughout the year, John Collins and Taurean Prince also have now hit a standing where their grades are much clearer representations of what they have brought to this young team in their first season under Lloyd Pierce.
As Atlanta closes out year one under Pierce, these grades will bear out the areas where players must continue to improve in the final 20-plus games of the 2018-19 season.
